The lodge is excellent for beginner fly fishers. Our guides are great teachers, the river is easy wading, and casts don't need to be long. During mid-weeks and silver season especially, there are plenty of chums, dolly varden, and silvers around to give every novice angler lots of chances to catch fish. We have all the tackle and equipment needed to outfit you.

Our setup is two clients to one guide, so while there isn't a lot of built-in activity for a non-fishing partner, they’re welcome to hang out on the boat and take in the scenery while the other one fishes (important to note that this is much less enjoyable on rainy days). On the flip side, the lodge (while also lacking in any built-in activity options) is peaceful, quiet, and a great spot to read a book. It really just depends on the person.

There's great wifi in the main lodge. It's not available in the cabins or out on the river.

We send a pre-trip questionnaire at the time of booking that covers food allergies and any medical needs, so Betty can plan around it before you arrive.

Kids are welcome, though it really depends on the child. Conditions can be cold, windy, and wet, and if a kid isn't especially into fishing, there isn't much to keep them entertained. Middle weeks work well for families who book the whole camp (our minimum group size is 4 guests), and we've had great experiences with that setup. As a general guideline, we don't recommend bringing anyone younger than 10–12, though it really depends on the individual kid and family.

Alaska weather happens, especially on the Peninsula, though we don't have many non-fishable days. When one does come up, the lodge is warm and dry, the soup is hot, and the wifi lets you stream a movie or the game, play cards, or read a book.

We don't fill fish boxes to take home in bulk. During silver season, if you'd like to bring filets home, we allow 3 fish per angler for the week — that's what freezer space and plane space allow. We'll fillet, vacuum pack, and freeze your catch. You'll need a soft-sided cooler bag, or you can simply pack wrapped frozen filets in your checked bag for the trip home.

No, you don't need to bring flies unless you want to. We have all the appropriate flies and leader on hand, and fly rods available too if you don't have your own.

We have beer and wine available. If you'd like hard liquor, you're welcome to bring your own (BYOB).
